The Need

  • Over 8,000 children are homeless
  • Over 80,000 children live in poverty

In Massachusetts:

  • 420,715 children (or 29%) live in poor or low-income families
  • 203,104 children (or 14%) live in poor families defined as $21,200 in income for a family of four
  • 217,611 children (or 15%) live in low-income families defined as $42,400 in income for a family of four

 

In Newport County Rhode Island: (It is pretty much the same percentages, just lower number of kids. Statistics being compiled)
