We think that educators are the most underrated professionals in the world. This makes us crazy, because we know for a fact that after parenting, there is no more important work than teaching. Their work has a long term, life long impact not only on the children they teach, but on our entire community and ultimately our society as a whole. They have the power to shape generations, impact minds and make the world a better place.
We wanted to do something tangible to support our public school educators and to that end, last Saturday night, we hosted our First Annual, Educators Appreciation Dinner Dance. Photos from our evening are here. Our theme was the Wizard Of Oz because we think that heart, courage and brains define an educator!
Chef Victor Vieira from Fay’s provided two hundred fifty of our guests and volunteers with a feast, the food was over the moon! Cocktails, especially his signature themed Raspberry Bellini by Celebrity Mixologist Chuck Cotter were perfect! Martha Kay, Our Executive Director, just happens to be a Baker Extraordinaire and her Dessert table, with over 600 individual tasty treats was the hit of the evening. Dance Music, by award winning DJ Joe Lima, The Lima Entertainment Group, kept everyone dancing into the night and First Citizens’ Federal Credit Union, donated a wonderful gift basket, door prize.
